Searching for a doctor to cure his mute son Alan Ladd is the proud rebel. Ladd settles in a sheep-ranching town to raise money for the operation but he finds that he must struggle against the ruthless head of ranchers. He joins forces with a beautiful woman who is being terrorize by the rancher and his men. The warmth of love, the beauty of the country and the violence and greed of the men combine to make this one of the most dramatic and emotional westerns in film history.
