In January 2001, CFM Media Inc. (USA) and its associate company Computerware for Micros Pty. Ltd. (Australia), commenced a project to remaster classic movies from the 40's through to the 80's into a new modern digital format.

This involved extensive work in video enhancement, colour correction, noise reduction, creation of 6 new surround sound channels, subtitles in numerous languages and completely new packaging and design.

The new audio was created for 6 separate surround channels and this has been achieved by re-mixed and adding new sound effects allowing for the final creation of a Dolby Digital 5.1 compatible sound.
